Treat you better is a song of Shawn Mendes and written by him and two more men. The song was released the 3rd of June in 2016, and the videoclip, which helps to understand the meaning of the song, was released the 12th of July in 2016. The song talks about a young couple: he is a violent and rude guy, who hurts emotionally the girl. He disparges her, and in the video we can see that he even mistreats her with violence. In the song, all this is explained by shawn, and he tells things like: “I know I can treat you better than he can” “Any girl like you deserves a gentelman”, etc.

What I like the most about this song is that a young and famous singer like Shawn, made a song about this, which is not the typical topic for teenager fans.

And I have choosen this song because it is not sang by the victim or by someone who has passed by this awful situation: it is sang by a spectator who tries to help the victim and make her realise that this is not what she deserves.
